Champion Homes names Dave McKinstray as next CFO
Champion
Homes,
Inc.
announced
yesterday
that
finance
executive
Dave
McKinstray
will
join
the
company
as
Executive
VP,
Chief
Financial
Officer,
and
Treasurer,
effective
January
12.
He
will
succeed
Laurie
Hough,
who
will
retire
after
more
than
25
years
with
Champion
Homes.
Hough
plans
to
remain
with
Champion
Homes
until
May
31,
serving
in
a
transition
role.
McKinstray
most
recently
served
as
CFO
and
Senior
VP
at
WK
Kellogg
Co.,
which
became
an
independent
company
in
October
2023
following
a
spin-off
from
Kellogg
Company.
Italian
firm
Ferrero
purchased
WK
Kellogg
Co.
in
September
of
this
year,
an
acquisition
that
McKinstray
helped
oversee.
McKinstray
held
various
positions
at
Kellogg
from
2010
to
2023,
and
has
spent
most
of
his
career
in
the
food
and
beverage
industry.
While
he
doesn’t
have
prior
direct
experience
in
the
homebuilding
sector,
Tim
Larson,
President
and
CEO
at
Champion,
said
in
a
press
statement
that
he
is
confident
in
McKinstray’s
“unique
combination
of
strategic
insight,
operational
rigor,
and
consumer
focus.”
McKinstray,
in
the
same
press
release,
noted
Champion
Homes’
“long
and
impressive
history
of
delivering
much-needed
housing
solutions.”
A
leading
builder
in
manufactured
and
mobile
home
production
Champion
Homes
is
a
Michigan-based
manufactured
homebuilder
that
specializes
in
mobile
and
modular
home
production
in
the
United
States
and
western
Canada.
The
homes
are
produced
in
one
of
the
company’s
46
manufacturing
facilities
using
an
assembly-line
approach.
Modules
are
built
section
by
section,
including
walls,
roofing,
and
interior
fixtures.
After
this
process
is
complete,
the
finished
modules
are
delivered
to
the
designated
lot
or
site,
and
quality
assurance
inspectors
verify
that
the
homes
comply
with
building
codes.
This
operation
allows
Champion
Homes
to
deliver
simple,
small
houses
affordably.
Last
quarter,
the
firm’s
average
selling
price
for
homes
sold
in
the
US
was
only
$98,700.
